The July 30, 2012 edition of the Poughkeepsie Journal announced that the Hyde Park town board was holding an emergency exectutive session to discuss the recent litigation filed against them by Steven Costa.
This meeting was improperly held as the litigation is not against the town and the town board as a whole, but rather the town board members are being sued individually.
The writers of the HV News Lies would like to stress to the readers that Mr. Costa is filing suit alleging that the town board members engaged in extortion, which is a criminal act. Although Warren Replansky stated that legal representation would be covered through the town's insurance policy, he failed to mention that criminal acts are NOT covered and the town board members will need to retain their own attorneys out of pocket.
It should also be noted that the writers of the HV News Lies are of the opinion that this lawsuit has the possibility to 'open up a can of worms' so to speak in regards to other corruption that may be taking place in Hyde Park should New York State decide to investigate the extortion charges and press charges a
