Someone needs to break the news to Joe that he, kind of, like, lost.
The Republican party touted Joe Kakish as a responsible business owner of a daycare center with Mr. Kakish, himself boasting that his experience of successfully running his business day to day would enable him  the necessary skills needed to manage a multi-million dollar enterprise that we know as the municipality of Hyde Park.

On November 18, 2011, Mr. Kakish was hit with a warrant, or otherwise known as a tax lien. What is a tax lien? According to the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance website, it is as follows:

A tax warrant is a legal action against you and creates a lien against your real and personal property.

What happens
  • the warrant is a public record stating that you owe taxes to New York State
  • we have the right to collect your debt through a levy, income execution, and seizure and sale of property
  • the warrant is filed with your local county clerk's office and the NYS Department of State
  • the action may show up on your credit report making it more difficult for you to get a loan or buy and sell property
The Hyde Park Republican party endorsed a candidate that lied to the public by creating a facade that he was somehow a responsible business owner, along with other legal issues concerning past judgements and property seizures.  It can be wise to say that a smarter business decision would to be to pat off this lien rather than in form of donations that Joe made to various political causes including the Hyde Park GOP. You can't pay your taxes but you do have the money to throw at the people that were responsible for endorsing you.

Can the Hyde Park Republican Party ever be trusted that they will ensure that a qualified candidate be endorsed in future elections, or will they continue to endorse deadbeats and losers? In two years time will tell. By then hopefully the McArthurs and their minions will either be run out of town or in jail.
