Questions arise regarding the motivation for Aileen Rohr to take a stance against the proposal for Hyde Park Commons which she vocalized in a letter to the Planning Board to which she indicated that the 'government sponsored tenants' at the Ledges were causing 'detriment' or damage to the buildings and schools in Hyde Park.

The writers at the HV News Lies were in discussion and speculated that perhaps Aileen's opposition against housing development in Hyde Park was simply to keep those that she considered 'undesirable people' out of Hyde Park.

Stop the Sprawl was the brain child of a group of elitist environmental fascists. In part it was designed to keep growth to a minimum under the guise of smart planning. There was also a sinister side to this superficial movement: keep the economic undesirables out of Hyde Park. This movement suggested racism. Aileen Rohr and Ann Dexter, were the spokes persons for Stop the Sprawl. Jim Langan boasted that it was he, and he alone who mobilized these ecological fascists to come out in force. It's nice to know that in the early 21st century bigotry is alive and well in Hyde Park especially knowing that the current supervisor was a major player in Stop the Sprawl.

Ecological fascists? Probably. They were used by people such as Rohr and the Langans and members of such groups as Scenic Hudson, Winakee Land Trust to promote their so-called conservancy agenda but in reality it was an agende to keep Hyde Park and other areas lily white. Rohr stated as much in her letter to the planning board in 2004. What is truly novel is that her whole family signed the letter. Does this suggest that the entire family are bigots? What does Rohr have to say about this eight years later?
